Our provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities was highly commended in a recent inspection: ‘pupils with formal statements of educational needs benefit from the clear analysis and very careful planning to address their needs, as well as a close monitoring and review of their progress’
We have a very holistic approach to SEND at Swaffham campus and take into account each student’s background and ability when caring for them.
Every teacher is included in decisions made about a student’s care and this means that help is implemented quickly and efficiently.
Considerable time is spent at the stage when a student first joins the school to diagnose any special needs and address them accordingly. Wherever possible SEND students are included with their peer group which also helps with their social and emotional needs as well as their learning challenges.
